China's high-resolution earth observation system Gaofen-7 satellite was officially put into use. As China’s first civil sub-meter optical transmission type 3D surveying and mapping satellite, the launch of the satellite marks the initial formation of the space-based earth-based observation capabilities of high spatial resolution, high temporal resolution, and high-precision observation created by Gaofen Special Project.

The Gaofen-7 satellite was successfully launched on November 3, 2019. The satellite is equipped with two-line array stereo cameras, laser altimeters and other payloads. It breaks through the sub-meter stereo mapping camera technology and can obtain high spatial resolution optical stereo Observation data and high-precision laser height measurement data. This project is the world's first satellite project that uses a two-line array + laser altimetry system to achieve 1:10000 stereo mapping, which has greatly improved the level of satellite earth observation and stereo mapping in my country.

The satellite can not only meet the relevant data needs of domestic users, but also provide powerful spatial information support for countries along the “Belt and Road”, which is of great significance for serving economic and social development and enhancing my country's aerospace international influence. During the satellite in-orbit test, a series of functions such as land illegal supervision, basic feature element identification, crop planting area measurement, highway construction monitoring and other aspects were verified.

In order to help the Mount Everest elevation survey in May this year, the National Land Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources used satellites such as Gaofen-7 and Ziyuan-3 to obtain remote sensing images and drew a 1:10000 scale topographic map for the climbing team to successfully climb the summit Provides terrain reference; with the help of three-dimensional mapping function, the satellite provides high-resolution three-dimensional data for the investigation and punishment of the illegal construction of "Caoyuan" in Mudanjiang; in terms of highway construction and construction monitoring, the satellite is used for the design and construction of high traffic slopes.

Multi-phase images identify and interpret the progress of high slope construction and the amount of slope filling and excavation. In the next stage, satellites will carry out further research and applications in global geographic information acquisition and autonomous data provision. The high score special project is one of the sixteen major special projects identified in the "National Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan Outline (2006-2020)". Since its approval in 2010, it has successfully launched a number of high score satellites and high score data. It is widely used in more than 20 industries and 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). After the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia this year, the Gaofen-2 satellite captured a series of remote sensing images during the construction of Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital, which provided strong support for construction progress monitoring.
