At the assembly and testing facility of Site No. 254 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, preparations continue for the Soyuz MS-17 crewed spacecraft launch. RSC Energia and Space Center Yuzhny specialists routinely conducted insolation check of the spacecraft power supply system solar arrays.
A functional check of the solar array panels involves standard deployment of photovoltaic sections and their artificial insolation with powerful lamps. This is done to test measure the parameters of solar power converters electric circuits. In addition to this, the descent vehicle special equipment was installed in the spacecraft, as well as crew personal equipment was prepared.
The Soyuz MS-17 with the ISS-63/64 expedition crew is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station on October 17, 2020 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
