Soyuz MS-17 vacuum chamber tests completed

RSC Energia and Space Center Yuzhny specialists completed leak tests of the Soyuz MS-17 crewed spacecraft in the vacuum chamber of the integration and test facility at Area 254 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The pneumatic vacuum test cycle of large space hardware using a helium-air medium in test volumes is the most objective method of monitoring stringent requirements for pressurization integrity of the spacecraft compartments and onboard systems under ground conditions.

The launch of upgraded launch vehicle Soyuz 2.1а carrying Soyuz MS-17 is scheduled for October 14, 2020 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
